Love You Forever

For my second book review I read Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. This book was a short story with pictures about a boy growing up and facing experiences that most kids face while growing up like being rebellious or messy. Even though the boy acts in these ways and sometimes is not respectful for his mother, she shows him unconditional love. He realizes this when he becomes a father himself.

The story is a great read for young kids because it is repetitive with the same sing song verse from page to page. I remember my mom reading me this book when I was younger and I would always read along on the repetitive parts: "I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my baby you'll be." This book still has an impact on me because sometimes my mom still says this saying that is found throughout the story. The story is reassuring for both parents and children that no matter what happens, both will still have each other.
